It is unbelievable to think that we are on the cusp of 2015. What a year! Of course , the obligatory HAPPY BIRTHDAY TastefulWisdom is in order. It was on this day, one year ago, that my hubby and I sat in front of the computer screen for probably 10 hours straight and then rang in the New Year with glassy eyes, headaches, and likely no cocktail in hand (but who’s counting). Together, but admittedly mostly him (in the beginning), we learned WordPress and little by little assembled a fully functioning site. Adam really deserves the credit, because at that time, I hadn’t a clue the first step in blogging or blog design. He was able to take my vision and turn it into a reality. The response has been overwhelmingly positive, and I truly want to thank everyone who has taken the time to read and support this site over the past year!
We also breezed by a very momentous milestone…our first wedding anniversary! Another unbelievable thought!
I can’t believe it has been a year since this magical day.
There is nothing in this life that Adam and I don’t connect with food…and I think that is most people. So as you can imagine, our anniversary could only be celebrated with a feast of some sort. If you don’t know already, Adam is a transplant from Baltimore…and what do Baltimorians eat? CRABS!!…so what better way to celebrate one year of wedded bliss than to get down and dirty with some Maryland-style crabs.
This has actually become quite the tradition in our lives. Any celebratory event…it’s crabs! It’s also a great way to connect by spending a few hours at the table together, talking, laughing, and eating. Maryland-style crabs are simply blue crabs steamed, and loaded with a thick crust of Old Bay-like seasoning. Definitely way-too-high in sodium for any kind of regular eating, but certainly a fun treat. Can’t wait for next year!
Oh yeah! And I turned 30 on November 30th!! I enjoyed a fabulous fiesta with family!
I can’t wait to see what this decade has in store!
…So I do feel like I have gotten this blogging thing down over the past year…but I have some serious resolutions to aspire to. Mainly, I must post more!!! Just like the rest of this world, I lead a crazy, busy life, and we don’t even have kids yet! Among the many hats that I wear, my blogger’s cap has recently become more neglected- and the silly thing is, this is one of the activities I enjoy the most! So in 2015, I will post more regularly. I would also like to take more pictures of daily life, food, and fun- so that is on the list as well!
You may have noticed the site looks a little different…We have successfully managed to give TastefulWisdom.com its birthday makeover. This is an ever-evolving process-and not quite complete. There will be a few new additions to the blog this coming year, so stay tuned and let me know your thoughts!
Thank you for sticking with me this year. As always, I welcome your comments and suggestions. Let’s make 2015 the best year yet! Looking forward to big things ahead! Wishing all of you a very Happy and Healthy New Year!!by
